Michelia champaka…

Michelia champaca is an evergreen or semi-deciduous, small to medium-sized tree up to 50 m tall; bole straight, cylindrical, up to 200 cm in diameter, without buttresses; bark surface smooth, grey to greyish-white, inner bark fibrous, yellow to brown, crown conical to cylindrical. Leaves simple, entire, arranged spirally; stipules adnate to or free from the petiole. Flowers on short, axillary brachyblast, solitary or rarely in pairs, large, tepals 6-21, in 3-6 usually subequal whorls, white to yellow; stamens many, anthers with a short to prominently elongated connective; gynoecium stipitate, with spirally arranged, free or connate carpels containing many ovules. Fruiting carpels dehiscing along the dorsal suture when free or fused and forming a fleshy or woody syncarp. Seed hanging from its funicle. The genus is named after Italian botanist Peter A. Michel (1679-1737); the specific epithet after the Hindu name.

I really love to have this flower in my hair as it gives a sweet smell of fragrance to my hair ๐Ÿ™‚ But at times it might bring headache too as its sweet scent is so delicious ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Function for Gods !!!

A few days before i happened to pass by a temple where they celebrated a grand festival for the God of that temple. Its a custom in Tamilnadu to celebrate once a year for the God in particular temple. Probably there will be a temple for each street which will be of mostly Lord Ganesha temple. He is too famous here ๐Ÿ˜€ So when i was driving i just saw this banner kept for the God and liked to click a picture. It wasn’t clear as my Mobile doesn’t support flash during night times ๐Ÿ˜ฆ So it wasn’t clear. After a series ofย picturesย i found this particular one a bit okay for itsย displayย in my blog ๐Ÿ™‚

Tree – Black & White Week

Once i was on my way to a college where i found this tree which was quiet attractive with curves and cuts ๐Ÿ™‚ I liked it and so clicked it ๐Ÿ™‚ When i converted it to Black & White i found it more appealing than it was in colors ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

The Sunset !!!

I was not used to see the sun rise or sunset ๐Ÿ˜› Its coz i wake up after the sun arises and leave office after the sun sets. Yesterday i had the opportunity to see the sun set when i happened to visit the terrace in my office. It was really such a nice view and i was eager to take pic of it. Though my mob is a 2mp camera i couldn’t focus much which mad me sad. But i clicked few pic’s too which was quiet good and i have shared those below ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope to get a GOOD camera soon ๐Ÿ™‚
